Wind Generator System

Wind Generator System
The wind generator system is made up of the wind turbine and an energy storage unit such as a battery. The wind turbine generator converts the wind energy into electrical energy and the batteries store that energy until you need to use it. The wind power system is used to produce thousands of megawatts of electricity that supplement our power grid. Wind power is also a very popular method used by farmers as it is one of the easiest ways of producing electricity. If you have a large area with reasonable wind speeds then you can produce an ample supply of wind electricity.

The components of a wind generator system are easily available and most individuals will be able to set up a wind power system of their own without professional help. There is plenty of detailed information, guides and kits that will help in setting up a wind generator system.

Does the wind generator differ from a windmill or wind turbine?

The only difference between the wind generator, windmill and wind turbine is what the energy is used for. Wind turbines have been used for many years to pump water, mill grain and pull boats. The only difference with the wind generator is that the energy is converted into electricity.

Advantages of using a wind generator?

The most obvious advantages are that the wind generator does not emit any harmful gases and does not require fuel to operate.

Though the initial cost of setting up a wind generator seems high, the cost of generating electricity in the long run becomes nil. So, you will be getting electricity absolutely free after a few years.

Wind generators do away with the dependence on power plants and the government for electricity. With a wind generator in your land, you have your own power plant for life.

With wind generators, you can say bye to power outages forever. You will get continuous, uninterrupted power supply for your entire house and land.

If you want to help the world and fight the current energy crisis, invest in a wind generator.

  • Thanks for the heater info, for more info waterheaters has came out with several new models. I’m trying to build a review site at http://www.naturalgaswaterheaters.org . Drop by and leave some comments please.

  • Thanks for this introduction.

I am in process of looking at creating alternative energy generating devices using the reuse principles of Junkk.com

Hugely inefficient, but given the componentry is mostly free (though advice on some on the spin to electricity kit that will cost would be welcomed – not sure running a washing machine motor backwards will cut it), plus of course the energy source, hopefully worthwhile.

I’ll be popping back as there is clearly some vast experience and expertise, especially in this specific arena, but more broadly on mechanical and electical/ronic engineering I am sure will be of great value.
